Trouble brings grace…
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
This passage comes from a very familiar story. Most have read or know this passage of scripture where Paul says that he asked God three times to remove the thorn in his flesh. Many scholars have asked about what that thorn was. Paul is clear that God said to him that His grace was sufficient for him. God promised that he would be there to strengthen him in his weakness.
How many of us have experienced the grace of God in a difficult season? Maybe God did not take the trouble away like we wanted, but He gave us the power or grace to walk through it. I don’t think that there is much more power than that. God has a way to make his Presence known in the most difficult situations. Oh, what a gift! The grace of God.
PRAYER: Father, let me remember the power of your wonderful grace. I know I am not strong enough to endure what challenges me, but what I do know is that you have the power to carry me through anything. Thank you for your grace!
