“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11
When we are going through trouble, we must remember to trust God’s plan. Have you ever been through a season where you felt you were boxing with God and losing? I know that I have. I have been through situations that I have approached with much prayer and fasting. Despite my cries, my trouble did not end.
The author refers to the 70 years of captivity that God’s people endured. It had already been predetermined, and there was nothing they could do about it. In the midst of their situation, God told them to plant trees, build houses, get married and have children (Jeremiah 29:10). God was saying to them that there was nothing they could do to change their situation. Just get comfortable and trust me.
PRAYER: Father, there are times when I frustrate myself with trying to pray out of a season when you have already predetermined your plan for me. When your plan conflicts with my desire, teach me to trust you and accept your providence. In the name of Jesus, I pray and give you praise, Amen.
