We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts.
1 Thessalonians 2:4
We are a generation that is constantly concerned with our appearance—our brand. We share our lives with hundreds, maybe thousands of people when we post pictures and concerns on social media. We are concerned about our clothing, our makeup, our nails, hoping that we get folks to click that they like or love what we have posted.
The fact of the matter is that we have lost sight for what really lies beneath the surface. If we are trying to please anyone, it should be God. Today, let us assess what our heart looks like. Are we concerned about the things that touches our God’s heart? Are we looking like him in our patience, kindness, and love for others?
PRAYER: Lord, I have been consumed with what others might think of me. Let me change my focus from them to you. Give me a heart that breaks the way yours does. Give me a mind that focuses on your godly characteristics and let my activity reflect obedience to you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
