Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Psalm 34:8

Tamela Turbeville, in an article for “I Believe” magazine, defines God’s goodness as “love in action.” She says that He shows His goodness through his mercy, his compassion, and provision. God’s ultimate act of goodness, Turbeville says, is His son Jesus Christ—our Savior and Redeemer.

What a blessing to take refuge and to find shelter in Him. For that reason alone: God is good! What a blessing to know that our Lord covers us. What a blessing to know that he is our fortress. What a gift God gave by sending His son. Love in action: Christ’s birth. Love in action: Christ’s death. Love in action: The gift of the Holy Spirit. Yes, our Lord is good!

PRAYER: Father, we thank you for being good. I see your goodness all around me. I see it in nature, in your creations—the sun, the moon, and the stars. I see your goodness when a baby is born. I see your goodness in your healing power, in the works of your hands on my life, and in the way you prosper me. I even see your goodness in death and your promise of eternal life for those who trust in you. In the name of Jesus, I praise you. Amen
