Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Sometimes, people in sin can get on your last nerve. When we are struggling with sin, it distorts the way we think, speak and behave. It can become frustrating when the people we love the most are the most difficult to relate to.
There is also the principle in scripture that two cannot walk together, except they agree. If one is walking in light and the other darkness, it becomes difficult to walk in harmony with each other.
This passage of scripture reminds us that we are to remain loving despite how difficult a person is. We are to remain loving, seeking the greatest good for our loved ones. We must not allow the place and space they are in to change the way we respond to them.
PRAYER: Lord, I need patience with this young person. Please give me your love so that I can demonstrate it to them. Let me not waver in the process. Let me see them through your eyes. In the name of Jesus, I pray and give you praise. Amen
