Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still…[Luke 7:14 (NIV)]
Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still…[Luke 7:14 (NKJV)]
Today we continue our talk about the son of the widow of Nain. In Luke 7, Jesus touched the bier, or the frame, holding his casket. Some Bible versions say, Jesus touched the casket. In either case after the touch, the bearers, or those carrying the body, stopped.
Jesus didn’t touch the body because He didn’t have to do so. He only had to touch the peripherals (or outside) of a situation to effect change. And when He speaks, people and things around us must stand still.
PRAYER: Lord, there are some things in my life that I need you to change. Thank you for fighting for me and for reminding me that only have to be silent. Help me to stand firm and see your salvation. Thank you for speaking life into my situations and directing things and people who would attempt to hinder my miracles to stand still. In the name of Jesus, I praise you. Amen.
