Vessels of Comfort Lifeline for Today Friday, February 2, 2024

You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. (Psalm 77:14)

There are several things on which theologians over the ages have disagreed. They have questioned if you have received Christ, are you eternally secure. They have also questioned if Jesus only died for those of us who would receive him. There are hundreds of other questions and disagreements, to include if the rapture will occur before the tribulation period. There are also questions and disagreements about miracles. There are those who believe that miracles no longer occur. 

In my very simple opinion, it is difficult to truly understand how anyone could come to that conclusion having seen the sun in the morning and the moon at night. Or seeing a baby being expelled from a mother’s womb or hearing a bird sing at spring time. It just doesn’t stop with the expected works of nature, it happens when someone who was expected to die, lives 20-30 more years. Or when a couple who was on the way to divorce receives the grace to give their marriage one more shot. You get the picture. Our God performs miracles every day. All we must do is open our eyes and see the wonderful things our God is doing. 

MEDITATION: I admit that I have overlooked many of the wonderful things You have done. Today, I choose to be mindful about miracles: the great and the small. Open my eyes to see all of the wonderful things You do for me and Your creation every day. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
