God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Numbers 23:19

We must know the nature of the One who rules the universe. He is not a man, so he will not lie. Lies denote deceit. Deceit is the intentional misleading or beguiling of another for a set purpose. It can also be called hypocrisy, with piety in the mouth but impiety in the heart. We have all met hypocritical folks – those who say one thing but do another. God cannot do this. He does not lie. God will not regret or change his mind. He will do what he said. If he said it, he will make it good.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you that you are not like man. You do not lie nor do you change your mind. If you spoke it, you will make it good. Thank you, Lord. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
