You are not alone…

Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hebrews 13:5

Black begins with the story of the prophet Elijah who felt alone when he went through the storm. He declared to God that he was left alone serving him. Black said that this thought made him desire death, and he asked God to take his life.

If we are going to survive life’s storms, we have to reject falsehoods the enemy brings us. We must lean on God’s truth. Hebrews 13:5 says that God never leaves or forsakes us. This companionship with us will never end (Matthew 28:20).

This is an important truth to know. Why? Because when we go through difficulty, the enemy sometimes pits us against God. How does he do that? He does it by reminding us of all of the times we sinned, making us think that God has turned on us because of our guilt. This is a lie. I could spend the next several weeks pouring over scripture after scripture that clearly states that God will never leave us.

Stand on his promise. Endure the storm, because you have the “calmer” of storms with you. ‘’’

PRAYER: Lord, let me never lose sight of the truth that you are with me. Thank you for being the “calmer” of my storms. You promise that I cannot flee from your presence (Psalm 139:7-10) Let me hold that truth close to me, despite what my circumstances are. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
