For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
God has a plan, despite what things look like to us. In this passage of scripture, Jeremiah pens these words to encourage his brothers and sisters who were in exile. They were pulled away from their homeland to be servants of an ungodly nation. Despite their situation, God tells them that in the fullness of time, they would return to their homeland and ultimately to Him. God reminds them that he has a plan for them, despite what they were experiencing at the time.
If you are like me, you know somebody who is young and struggling with being in a desolate place. It may look like there is no way out, but our God has a way of turning our mourning into dancing and our sorrow into joy. There is no situation so dire, that God is unable to save. If he could turn the Israelites’ situation around, he can certainly take care of your loved one.
PRAYER: Father, I know that you have plans for this young man or woman. Despite what they are going through or where they are, your plans trump their current situations. I am praying for you to give them hope that life can be better than it is right now and that service to you is the starting point. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
