When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. (Isaiah 43:1-2)
What a promise! When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned. The text goes on to say that the flame will not scorch you. There will be no signs that you were even in the fire. There will be no damage done to you. Automatically, our minds think of total protection from harm and danger.
Yes, there may be some protection from harm in our lives, but ultimately something will eventually overwhelm us, and we will transition to be with the Lord. Prior to my dad’s death, I saw this underlined in his bible. It was like he knew he was getting ready to die, but he reminded himself that when he takes that journey from mortality to immortality, God would be with Him.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I am grateful for my daily protection, but I also recognize that there is a date on the calendar when I will enter your presence, completely and totally. Thank you for dying on the cross, conquering hell, death, and the grave. Nothing can touch me now, because I have been sealed in the blood of the Lamb. Hallelujah!
