But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:15-16

In this passage of scripture, God calls us, as believers, to holiness. In the verses that precede the ones above, we are directed as obedient children to not be conformed to the desires of our former ignorance. We are to “gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’” The written word reminds us that God has standards. We just can’t live “any kind of way.”

PRAYER: Holy Father: No one compares to you. You are majestic. You are sovereign. You alone are worthy of my reverence and my praise. I want to live in right relationship with you. I want to live set apart from the world. I want to live holy as you are holy. IT IS WRITTEN. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
