Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end
Revelation 22:12-13
Kim says the following: “Advent, which comes from the Latin advenías, meaning arrival, is our long and steady gaze forward, backlit by history. The light of the Christmas story breaks into the darkness of our past guilt, present pain, and future anxieties, pointing us to brighter days ahead.”
Hope is what keeps us sane when we have lost a loved one. Hope is what keeps us calm when it looks like evil is winning. Hope is what keeps us moving forward when we compare our lives to others, and it seems like we are getting the short end of the stick…again.
We can stand, talk, and keep our heads lifted because we know that Jesus will be coming soon and his recompense is with him. He will repay each of us for what we have done in our bodies. This is our hope. Every day, this is our hope.
PRAYER: Thank you for lighting my way with the light of the gospel. I am so grateful for the Word of God that tells me that you will be coming soon and you will right every wrong. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
