He loves us

But God demonstrates his love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!”

1 John 3:1a

We are loved. As we have heard, there is nothing we can do to make God love us more and there is nothing we can do to make him love us less. He just loves us. He loves us in a way that we would never understand but can see. What does that mean? God demonstrated his love by giving us Himself. Not an angel. Not an animal. Not riches. He gave us the very best…Himself.

He sacrificed so much so that we would be adopted into his family. That means that we belong to God and God belongs to us. Jesus loves us so much. Nothing could have cost him more than what he gave.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for loving me before I even knew myself. Thank you for dying for me, even before I drew my first breath. Thanks for calling me to yourself before I could even call your name. I am grateful for a love that demonstrates that it exists.
