If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.
2 Timothy 2:13
We are creatures of habit. Despite the number of changes we go through, we never think in terms of things changing too much. Yes, we know that our children will probably leave as adults and that we will retire and get old, but we don’t think about the things that can happen that change our lives dramatically. We think that things will always be the same. Not only that, we think that people won’t change—that those relationships will also remain the same. That is not the case. Things change and we have no preview of what we will see in the course of our lives.
Despite what is going on with us, God is steadfast and faithful. We must learn to hang our hats on God’s faithfulness. God can be counted on. He is our anchor. He is the place that never changes. He is steadfast and unmovable. He is our rock.
Additionally, our faithlessness does not change his faithfulness. He remains steadfast, even when our evil actions deserve similar reactions. God cannot say no, under any circumstance, to who He is.
