For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves

Steve Turner, in “Lean, Green and Meaningless” says, “Christian conversation is not a case of fanning that little spiritual spark in the human soul into a flame. It is a case of invading a dark and doomed soul with spiritual light from above.”

We serve a ruthless enemy that is active in our world. From the beginning of time, he was a liar. He is an enemy of the Word of God, the integrity of God, and the people of God. He is a lion that is on the prowl, ready to kill us given the opportunity. He has the knack of fooling us into thinking that he is light while coming to disrupt our unity and destroy our relationships. He is an intentional foe.

Our God plays no games with him and expects us to do the same. Our God came and rescued us from Satan's kingdom and delivered us into the kingdom of life, defeating hell, death, and the grave. Even though our enemy is formidable, our God is greater! What a reason to celebrate! What a reason to be grateful!

PRAYER: Thank you, Lord, for saving me. When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all that he has done for me, my soul cries out Hallelujah, thank you Lord for rescuing me. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
