“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”

1 Corinthians 1:20

Verses 20-22 of this passage in the first book of Corinthians in the Message Bible reads, “Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit, he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.”

Over the past two weeks, we have explored some of the promises found in the book of Psalms. We’ve been reminded that God is a promise keeper, a father who is true to his word. He promises that whatever we do shall prosper, that he hears the cries of the righteous, that he will give us peace, and that he is our refuge and strength. Our God will guide and counsel us. He will never forsake us, and He will save us from our enemies.

PRAYER: Father, thank you for your sweet promises. Thank you being a God upon whom we can depend. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen
