My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. Bind them always on your heart; fasten them around your neck. When you walk, they will guide you; when you sleep, they will watch over you; when you awake, they will speak to you.

Proverbs 36:20-22

Over the past four weeks, we have studied several proverbs. It is my prayer that each one has blessed you in one way or the other. May we make the decision to seek after wisdom, keeping our God’s command and not forsaking his teaching. Just as we place a picture of our loved ones around our necks to remind us of how much they mean to us, let us bind God’s commands on our heart and fasten them around our necks. When we walk, let us look for them to guide us and when we go to sleep, let them be a source of peace. Let God’s command speak to us when we get up in the morning.

PRAYER: Lord, forever pierce these words in my heart so that I might not sin against you. In the Name of Jesus. Amen
