Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.

James 4:6

As we close this week on humility, let us remember that we have no better example of walking in humility, than the Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus did not have to walk in humility, as He is God. But he set the example for us, reminding us that we are to consider others more significant than ourselves. We saw that played out in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus put our salvation before his very own life. We saw it in the way he interacted with the crowds. We saw it when he got down on his knees and washed the disciples’ feet.

PRAYER: Each day, let me be aware of the need of others. Let me count them more significant that myself in my words and action. There may be times when I must endure negative experiences as a result of my humility. Give me the grace to walk it out the way you did. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
