At this they wept aloud again. Then Orpah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung to her. “Look,” said Naomi,” your sister-in-law is going back to her people and her gods. Go back with her.” But Ruth replied, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God.
Ruth 1:14-16
The enemy would have us think that God is not faithful. When Naomi and Ruth got back to Bethlehem, Boaz (deliverer) was not waiting for them to get them out of the tough situation. They had to go through some days and nights of trouble, worry, and stress. Ruth had to come up with a strategy to provide for them. Nothing came easy just because God was faithful.
Many times, we get stumped by how God chooses to deliver us. When we pray to God for deliverance, most of us look for moments. We look at God as if He is a knight in shining armor, coming to save us from the situation. The fact of the matter is that God, many times, can bring our biggest blessing out of the most horrific situations. Trust our faithful God, even when the situation looks contrary to his promise. God is not a prankster. It’s coming.
PRAYER: Father, let me not be puzzled by the process or too caught up in moments. Let me remember that you are God. That means that you can choose to do what you do, any way you want to. Let me be like a child, trusting you every step of the way. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
