He values me

You are precious in my sight and honored, and I love you.”

Isaiah 43:4

I remember when my mom was alive but was suffering from dementia. We knew she could not see, but most did not know that. That is one of the reasons why you never saw her walking off on her own. She needed someone to guide her. I remember one afternoon we went to the Family Dollar. A middle-aged white man was working the cash register. He was not the most pleasant-looking person. He had already begun to go bald. He had a tattered Family Dollar shirt on and wore some glasses that were smudged. My mom looked at him and said, you are so beautiful. You are just precious. You are so precious. It is amazing when we had times like these. It was as if the Lord was speaking through her to let someone who felt like they were at the bottom of the totem pole that they were valued. I believe that man believed that Mama saw him, and in that moment, I believe that Mama saw him more than any of us could see him. She saw him and wanted him to know that he was valued.

Isn't this like our heavenly father? Many times, the snares of life get us in a bad place spiritually. Sometimes, we feel like we are absolutely nothing. That is never the thought of our God. He has already declared that we are precious in His sight and honored. Then as a cherry on top, he says that he loves us.

PRAYER: Lord, what shall I render to you for all your blessings? When I think about everything, I have in you, I am overwhelmed. I am chosen. I am forgiven. I am accepted. I am loved. I am valued. Thank you, Lord, for all those things I have in You.
